Cooking & Science is a cleverly designed chemistry lab book. Originally designed to supplement your current studies in chemistry, I personally think it could stand alone as a basic chemistry course. Using fun recipes, it teaches some basic chemistry principles. No watered-down science here! - your 6 year old can learn basic chemistry principles in a familiar setting- the kitchen!

It's easy to see the wonder of God's creation all around us - but to truly appreciate the incredible design, organization, and creativeness of the Creator, you have to delve into the elements that make up our world. Honestly, this is a really cool text book. The author devotes a 2-page spread to each of the first 50 elements. Each element’s page has an applicable bible verse, basic data, an analysis of that element, a bible lesson based on the key verse for that element, a short quiz for that element, and a response (a short prayer to apply the bible lesson learned). 

Naked Eggs and Flying Potatoes arrived at our house, and immediately my son snatched it up, ran to get his neighbor friend, and started working on some of the fun experiments in this book, totally captivated.  I believe this is probably the most fun and doable science experiment book I've ever found - one of our "finds" of the year!  Nearly every page has beautiful full-color photos (more than 240) of how to do the experiment, and the results. It also has funny and engaging text that actually teaches how and why these experiments work.  This book is a work of art!

Thomas Edison for Kids provides a unique approach for your homeschool student to study history:  by actually doing it.  If you are studying inventors and inventions or famous Americans, why not actually tie your science in by actually having them do some of the same experiments Thomas Edison did?  It's a brilliant idea!
