The Teacher’s Guide and Key, Books 5–6, expands on the skills presented in the student books, providing teachers with various options for instruction and reinforcement. This is a level six teacher book only.  The response book is optional (there is no child's workbook for this level). You can do sequential spelling on regular notebook paper; however, I have found the response book to be very helpful to organize the many "tests" and to condense work into a small booklet. I do recommend them even though they are optional.

This is a level two teacher book only. If you are doing Sequential Spelling Level 2 with a younger student, you can purchase a separate level one workbook for younger students (with puzzles and additional spelling practice) (see links below). I personally use the generic response book for all my students regardless of age. But, remember, you are the best judge for YOUR student.

Writing Tales is a comprehensive writing curriculum that teaches from a classical approach. Lessons and practice in grammar, spelling, vocabulary and handwriting are also included. Level Two is written for 4th-5th grade ages, or middle to upper grammar level students.

Using an integrated approach to learning, students learn the skills appropriate for each grade level in the context of real literature.

Susan Wise Bauer wrote Writing with Skill for students to begin to work through independently, and the text is written directly to the student. Organized by days, each "step" progressively moves students through the workbook as they move from one day to the next. Covering the basics of composition, outlining, sentence skills, beginning literary criticism of poetry and prose, writing narratives and descriptions, and researching and documenting sources, the course culminates with a final project. Using extensive literary models and step-by-step instructions on the lesson concepts, students will gain the tools needed to write with clarify and confidence.

A blend of dictation and units, lessons integrate all the fifth grade language arts skills: grammar, creative writing, composition, spelling, higher-order reasoning, and study skills. Everyday Words: Students hone in on grammar skills through dictation and writing exercises. 

This is the sixth of a seven book series (K-6th grade) providing instruction in basic italic handwriting. We recommend Book F for students in the fifth grade. Designed to help older students learn how the English language works.
