The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom
The Hiding Place is the classic, true story of the Ten Boom family. Devout Christians, when the Netherlands was overrun by the Germans, the Ten Booms immediately, with no thought of their own safety, disobeyed Marshall law and set up an entire network to hide and help Jews to safety. From stealing ration cards, to hiding an illegal radio, to building a secret room (the Hiding Place), the Ten Booms daily put their lives in danger. Eventually their activities were discovered, and they were all sent to prison, and finally to the infamous Ravensbruck concentration camp. In the midst of this living hell, they find that God is truly their Hiding Place, and their strength. This story was eventually made into a movie. I first read this book as a new Christian when I was just a teenager - and was absolutely captivated. A wonderful addition for older teens as they study recent history and World War II.
There is a Progeny Press study guide available for this book.
