Devotions

Devotional books are always discounted at Schoolhouse Publishing!

For any Christian homeschool, you will want the Bible to be at the core or foundation of your child's education.  As a busy homeschool mom with busy students running in half a dozen different directions, the best gift you can give yourself and your students is a love for God's Word and a rich devotional life.  I consider this section to be the feast for your soul. If you are anything like me (a weak and needy individual apart from my Savior), it won't be long until you realize that you need Jesus in order to homeschool successfully. These books are for you and your children, to serve as Bible curriculum or to enhance your devotions. Browse this selection of devotional helps that will strengthen your spirit and enrich your soul.

It’s finally here! This book, 20 years in the making, is full of photos, ideas, tips, Scripture, humor, and practical application. In it, you will find help for your home and school and hope for your soul. You might think I’m not just a homeschool mom like you. I’m the epitomy of the Homeschool Supermom - or so it may seem. I’ve homeschooled my nine amazing kids for 20 years. But it’s time for me to climb down from the pedestal, and in total transparency, explode the Supermom myth.

"Come to the Garden" is the journal/Bible study designed specifically to accompany the book, "Homeschool Supermom...NOT!" Written by my mom, a godly older woman, this journal is designed to help you dig deeper into the Bible alongside the lessons you are learning in Supermom. Each chapter in the journal corresponds with a chapter in Supermom. Author Alta Andraeas has added stories and lessons of her own to the many questions taken from the side bars of Supermom and from the "Homework for the Soul" assignments at the end of each chapter, further enriching your studies.

This is a very contemplative book. It teaches you to think about all the mundane moments of your life (as a homeschool mom) and see the hand of God actively at work in those moments: a rainbow captured in a soap bubble, the little-boy smell of a child just come in from playing in the sunshine. As we learn to rejoice in each of these small gifts, it brings such glory to God! Finding joy in Him, His presence, His gifts right where we are, in the moment.

Herein Is Love: Leviticus by Nancy Ganz is described by the publisher (Shepherd Press) as a commentary for children.  On the one hand, I hesitate to use that description, because you might get the impression that these are reference books - dullsville!  On the other hand, I feel compelled to use the description, because it will give you an idea of the spiritual depth and richness you will find in these books.  These books are amazing.
