Caution: Writing in this Book Might Be Fun! (for Girls)
by Monica Kemmerer and Rachel Kemmerer
"Caution: Writing In This Book Might Be Fun!" (Girls version) was written by my daughter and my daughter-in-law. My daughter, Monica, loves to write and desires to pass her sense of enjoyment on to other students. My daughter-in-law, though she doesn't profess to "love" writing, is a wonderful writer. She is, however, one of the most talented, feminine, delightful young ladies you'd ever want to meet. Monica and Rachel teamed up to create a book full of wonderful, girly ideas to write about. Your daughter might actually enjoy creative writing! Use this book as an idea bank to supplement your favorite creative writing curriculum, or as a stand-alone curriculum. It contains more than 25 writing assignments, as well as a self-editing check list. I've been challenging Monica to remember that you can't write well unless you write about something you love (Moms, you'll want to remember that. It's the most important tip I can give you concerning creative writing...). Some of the writing challenges included in "Caution for girls" include: -Your dream pet -Design your bedroom -Create a ball gown -Your best recipe (including directions to cook it and record the response of your family to the recipe) So, if your daughter finds creative writing painful, this might be the ice-breaker you've been looking for!
