I have celiac disease. No biggy, I love my diet! However, during the holidays when you’re eating out more than usual, it can be difficult to find “safe” places to eat. Well, I have a wonderful list of great restaurants that provide gluten free menus for those of us who need them. All you have to do is ask the hostess when you arrive, and she’ll give you a gluten free menu. I couldn’t find all the menus on line, but I have been handed a menu at each of these restaurants when I request one (unless noted below). I hope you find this list helpful (it’s a little different from my normal post!):
Uno’s Chicago Grill is one of my favorites – their GF menu is extensive and YUMMY!
Olive Garden – They even have gluten free pasta!
P. F. Changs – this is truly my all-time favorite! They treat you like a queen when you ask for the GF menu. LOVE! (This is a Chinese-American bistro.) Just click on the gluten free menu link to see their extensive menu! (It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.)
Red Robin – Click on the gluten free menu link for more information. Now they have gluten free rolls for their burgers! Honestly, they are so light and soft – my daughter tried my sandwich and she said she couldn’t even tell they were GF. I even asked the waitress: “Are you SURE these are GF?” Delicious!
Brazzo’s – Fine Italian dining, across the street from WalMart in Harleysville. Click the Gluten Free menu link to see their menu.
William Penn Inn – truly fine dining – the BEST in our area. They don’t technically have a GF menu, but kindly accommodate those of us who need it (we know the owners – a Christian homeschool family – so tell them I sent you:). May I suggest the crab cakes (GF, of course). They are to die for!
Caruso’s Brick Oven Trattoria – fine Italian dining, with a HUGE selection of GF goodies! Click on the “Menu” link, then choose the GF menu to see their huge selection!
Zach’s Pizza – in Harleysville next to the WalMart. They just started carrying GF pizza!…and they do a great promotional, if you buy 8 pizzas (cumulative), you get one free. This is the pizzaria closest to our home.
If you know of any other restaurants (chains, local to you, or local to me), feel free to share them in the comments below. Even Homeschool Supermoms need an occasional break from cooking, right??? Also, if you are giving a gift to someone with celiac disease, a certificate to one of these restaurants with a print-out of their GF menu makes a lovely gift!
